My wife and I enjoyed the USS Midway Museum. There is a lot to see and a lot to learn. For perspective on my review, I am not a Navy veteran or military wannabe. It took a lot of restraint for me not to point out to the guide that based on his knowledge the Gulf of Tonkin incident was obviously a fraud. Clearly, I am not a shill for the Navy.
Be aware that there is a lot of walking, and most of the stairways are small and require you to duck your head. (I am 5'10' tall). There are plenty of guides eager to answer questions or show you parts of the ship. There are also free receivers that connect via Bluetooth (?) at the various exhibits and provide narration.
One warning: Do NOT buy the Chinese food at Cafe 41. My wife and I took two bites of soggy, mushy, funny tasting steam table food and decided not to take a chance. We tossed out $30 of food and walked to The Fish Market (San Diego, not Del Mar!). Our visit was on a Monday, and I suspect the food was left over from Sunday.
