Must visit here when in San Diego! We had walked past this many times during our stay and had debated visiting, but we are so glad we did! We only spent half a day here but you could easily spend a full day here and it still not be enough time! There is so much to do and see, and there are lots of interactive exhibits and audio tours to keep you engaged! All the guides are really helpful, knowledgeable and in great humour! Even if you have no interest in military history you will enjoy this museum! Really great value for money!

This was the highlight of our final day in San Diego. We had gone past the USS Midway several times on our way to other spots, and we are so glad we took time to explore this aircraft carrier! I recommend getting there early if possible because later in the day, it was quite busy. One of the "yellow hats" (docents) recommended that we start by going up to the "island" tour, which allowed us to get as high as possible on the ship. That part of the tour is narrated by very knowledgeable docents who answer any and all questions. We then worked our way down, checking out the informative talks on the flight deck and the hangar before going below deck. There is SO much to learn and experience on this carrier. At times we felt rushed because the passages are so narrow, so you have to keep moving. The audio tour is awesome because you can listen to narration about many of the areas, along with quotes from sailors who served onboard the Midway. Make time for this when you're in San Diego!
