We brought my father who served on the Midway from 1958-1960 to visit the carrier today. He had not seen the Midway in 60 years. Our family was amazed at the generosity of, the outright professionalism from, and the length that all the workers went to in order to make my dad (and our entire family) feel special. Special thanks to the docent who reached out to us as soon as we arrived and graciously sent us on board as her guests (and the gentleman who also allowed us his guest tickets when he overhead our group was so large), the library staff who researched and helped us find pictures of my dad in the cruise books, Bill (also a vet from the USS Enterprise) for volunteering to walk us down to the gift shop to pick the perfect hat for my dad, Veteran Ron in the movie theatre for acknowledging the “youngster in the crowd who served on the Midway in the 50’s” (which led to patrons coming up to shake my dad’s hand and thank him for his service), and everyone else on the carrier that made this day so phenomenal!!! You made a Midway vet and his family/friends so very happy. Thank you for the experience!
