We went there after lunch on a weekday 2 hrs before closing. There was no line and we bought tickets online too which made it much easier since we went there with small children(our friends’). It was a different experience all together being on a ship that size and a lot of aircraft onboard too. The kids enjoyed getting on and seeing a lot if jet upclose made their day. Was able to ride/sit on a Maverick (think Top Gun “wink”) which was cool and my husband can’t help but make a ‘peeew peeew’ sound.lol We took a tour onboard (difficult with small children) and listening to the veterans’ explaining what happens on this part of the ship was awesome.

We visited on May 29, during Memorial Day weekend. The Midway had a special event with Veteran Aviators manning the planes they flew and telling us about the aircraft, their missions and such wonderful stories. I have to say, we were intrigued and honored for the interaction. They offer a self guided audio tour which is informative and easy to use. So many things to see and do on the ship and everything flowed so smooth. The volunteers are such an asset to the Midway experience. Parking was $10, which is good for all day, so you can walk around the area after your visit. I highly recommend buying tickets in advance online. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did!
