Join Coastal Kayak Charters for a small group guided kayak tour of the Shell Key Preserve. We are St Pete's top rated kayak tour company and focus exclusively on small groups and private tours. Our trips offer more personalized service and better wildlife viewing opportunities while out on the water. We will explore hidden mangrove tunnels (tides permitting), shallow seagrass meadows, and stop on Shell Island for time to swim, look for shells, or just relax and enjoy the beach. Our tours are designed for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. We use stable user friendly kayaks that provide a great paddling experience. We primarily use double kayaks unless you have an odd number in your group. If you prefer single kayaks they are available through our website. Come explore with local professionals who love what they do and see the difference for yourself.

Hidden gem in Tierra Verde! We had a great kayak adventure with Daniel. Family friendly, we had 6 adults and 2 children age 5 and 7 and enjoyed kayaking through the mangrove tunnels and watching the sea life. Our guide, a graduate of Eckerd College, who studied environmental sciences, did a wonderful job explaining things in a way that was interesting to all and kept the whole group involved. This is a perfect 3 hour adventure when family and friends come to visit!

Brian gave us our tour of Shell Key Preserve and was so knowledgeable about the area, the ecosystem, he was friendly, upbeat, and overall made our experience the best of our trip! This was our anniversary excursion and it was by far the most memorable experience that we’ve had thus far on our trip, thanks to Brian! We even got to share a very exciting moment with the dolphins 🐬 who gave us a little show in the preserve! We had a great time and would highly encourage anybody visiting to take this tour!

I am local to the area and have taken this tour 4 or 5 times now, and still look forward to my next trip! We always make sure to include this trip in our plans when we have out of town guests, and they all say it's the highlight of their visit. Every trip is unique and we always see and learn something new. On our last tour we saw a momma and baby dolphin breach the surface right in front of us! What an amazing experience! We have been out with Brian, Doug and Ross, and all are friendly, informative, and FUN! Don't miss this one!
