Travel into the protected waters of Resurrection Bay in search of gray whale on their annual migration through Alaskan waters on this 4-hour excursion. Gray whales migrate over 5,000 miles from Baja to the Bering and Chukchi Seas each year in search of food. They begin their migration north in late February and travel through Alaskan waters in the spring. In addition to gray whales, watch for humpback whales, orca, Steller sea lions, sea otters, Dall's porpoises, harbor seals, bald eagles, and many other types of marine birds.

We took a trip with these guys yesterday and the whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. We turned up to the office mid morning and booked the 3 1/2 hour tour of resurrection bay. All the crew were very friendly and helpful. The captain was excellent at narrating the tour and getting us to the animals! Amazingly we saw humpback whales and the a few minutes after a pod of orca. The boat was positioned perfectly for fantastic views, while also ensuring the animals were not disturbed or interfered with. We also saw sea otters, sea lions, puffins and lots of other sea birds. The complimentary binoculars were great, along with the coffee! Thank you so much for fulfilling our dreams in such a short space of time. Would highly recommend

The booking process for a package (hotel, train and cruise) was easy through Major Marine. The link between the Harbor 360 hotel in Seward and major marine means that checking in for the boat trip and getting on the boat could not have been easier. The hotel and where you catch the boat are 3 min walk from the train depot. It was a rainy day but still the boat trip was beautiful. The boat we took was clean, very well looked after and had 3 decks with great seating, one enclosed warm cabin and 360degree views. The captain and her staff were very welcoming and helpful. The commentary was knowledgable and passionate. The boat had a small bar so we could purchase snacks and drinks (buffets are provided on longer excursions) We were very lucky we saw one grey whale briefly, plenty of hump back whales and got to spend 20 minutes next to an Orca pod. We also saw otters, puffins, stellar sea lions, porpoise, eagles and mountain goat. It will always be a gamble with what animals will be out and about at the time of a cruise but I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Oh wow, take this tour if you make it to Seward. It was really neat. I definitely recommend it. Everything was well set up for us and we have such a nice day :)
