The idea behind this is great. Unfortunately, the execution wasn't great. We arrived at 13:00 for a 13:30 set off. We boarded at about 13:15 in very, very hot and humid weather with no shade available and had to sit there for 15 minutes being baked until we got going. It is very understandable that things need to be done safely and at the right pace but there was no need to leave us baking for 15 minutes with no respite, other than some attempted humour from our captain and an overly long explanation of how boat toilets work. All of this could have been done when the boat was moving and there was some breeze for all on board to ease the heat.
On the day we went, the captain did everything he could to find dolphins but with no luck. This meant we basically ended up on a 90 minute boat ride around the waters being told why we had to go slowly under bridges. There was no alternative entertainment so it ended up being a very dull boat ride and not what the You Tube videos promise.
As I say, completely understand these are wild animals; and there is a guarantee that your next ride is free if you don't get to see dolphins and that the voucher to return for the free ride has no expiry. All great in theory but if you have spent £80 on taking two kids out there and you are flying home that night, all very disappointing.
Do this early in your vacation to avoid a hollow and empty feeling for £80.
