In our November 2011 visit to New Orleans, our standout memory was of the three tours we took with Master Jeffrey! We thoroughly enjoyed his Strange True Tour of the French Quarter; as well as his wonderful guidance thru St. Louis Cemetery # 1... but when we made a special request of him to visit St. Louis Cemetery # 2 with us- a cemetery neglected on all current tours due to its proximity to bad neighbourhoods- despite its wonderful eerieness, its triplicity in size to St. Louis #1, its standing as a Unesco World Heritage site, which I understand is granted to no other N.O. cemetery- and its unfortunate fate at being currently adjacent to a noisy freeway that has caused some of its above ground tombs to start to lean due to noise and pressure-... Jeffery did not blink but offered to escort us there. We saw many extraordinary things there that are not commonplace at any other N.O. cemetery- among many others, the graves of real pirate heroes of the battle of 1814- the resting places of 1950's pop charttoppers, and other unbelievable things in open broken tombs that were simply mindblowing. Don't expect the usual ghost and vampire stories from Jeffrey- he's done his research. Take his tours if you want to hear the researched truth...
