Here is my issue with the tour. It was lazy. I was hoping for an informed discourse on culture, geology, and history. What we got was all sorts of information on the tour guide's personal life in the rodeo. When prompted with questions that were specific to any of our areas of interest, he either didn't know or gave a pre-school-level answer or worse, gave an incorrect answer, especially when the subject matter concerned the Navaho people! The tour company doesn't train their guides. They drive the vehicle and feel that's good enough for the hefty price charged.
