When it comes to Colorado whitewater, hardly anyone knows about the San Miguel River. Which is kind of a surprise! Given how much fun it is, on top of being in proximity to bougie and beloved Telluride.

The rafting section is gorgeously scenic, exciting for all experience levels, and pretty much a must if you want to spend the morning like a local. Its red sandstone canyon juxtaposed by flourishing pine forests make for a picturesque setting to recreate on this Rocky Mountain river.

Anyone who loves the outdoors will have an absolute hoot on this tour, whether it’s your first or hundredth time rafting. Just ask our guides, most— if not all!— will agree that the San Miguel is their favorite river to run.

This was a last minute decision which I’m so glad I did! It was such an amazing experience! The guides were awesome and knowledgeable. The river was running great and the views were breathtaking! From no experience to running cat 3 rapids…this is a must!

Rafting experience was true to their name. These Class III rapids were exactly what we were looking for. Our guide Rio, was so good at making sure we got just enough wild to be exhilarating. We were soaked by the end of the run. Our hearts might’ve skipped a couple times but everyone stayed in the boat. Thank you Rio for a great ride! I’ll let someone else sit front row next time!

We rafted down the San Miguel river with our guide Rio and had a fabulous time!! There was plenty of water and rapids and Rio kept it fun and engaging. We were with two other couple and I think I can say we all had a great time! I would definitely come back again and would recommend to anyone who has a little adventure in their soul.
