Two friends, my boyfriend, and I attempted the (at this time) second most difficult room, The Heist, rated 8/10 in difficulty. Three of us were first-timers to escape rooms. All four of us had a blast.
Though a story accompanies each ESCAPE ROOM, the true immersion occurs in obsessing over finding the clues and solving the puzzles for an hour. Though I can only speak for The Heist, I assume that its ingenuity applies to every escape room. The clues and puzzles are all quite clever. Not too easy, not too hard, all doable, and nothing outrageously confusing or uncalled for. Whoever designed the rooms' puzzles did a fantastic job. What follows is essentially what you are told before starting your escape mission and what we experienced for ourselves: a door to exit the room was always visible and accessible, we were always free to leave the room whenever, and 3+ hints were available for our use.
I am also very satisfied with their efforts on SANITATION AND GUEST SAFETY. Everything in regards to these two topics are available on their website. I hope that they continue to maintain this standard of cleanliness if they have not already been doing so.
Shout out to Willem, our gamemaster/Game Guide. Very enthusiastic and very helpful. We appreciated the moments when he chose to step in and provide hints. He accurately judged when and how often to help us progress in our escape. He also balanced being professional and being fun. Skillful, respectful, and good-humored STAFF? Always a major plus.
Furthermore, the City Centre LOCATION of this The Escape Game is quite (for the lack of a better word) smart. The bottom line: There are many, many places to eat meals and dessert before and/or after going to The Escape Game.
With all of this being said, their PRICE of ~$35 per person makes sense (and is quite the steal). For those worrying if these escape rooms are too hard and therefore a loss of money, have no fear. Help and hints will be readily yet strategically given. For those worrying if these escape rooms are too hard and therefore a waste of money, you are unfortunately reading a review from the wrong person. I can only hope that adept puzzle/escape room enthusiasts will be challenged by Prison Break, the (at this time) most difficult room.
Will absolutely return and attempt the rest of the rooms with my loved ones!
