I was a little apprehensive having read some of the reviews about not being able to book some attractions in advance. We had no issues. While it's true that One World Observatory and the 9/11 museum cannot be pre-booked with the Pass, we went early and there were no queues. For the Circle Line tours, we went to the pier to book tickets for the following day.
We found the Pass to be very good value, but it takes planning. Planning each day and booking in advance really pays off. You can easily fit in 2 or 3 attractions per day. We bought a 4-day pass and went to 10 attractions (Empire State, Natural History Museum, One World Observatory, 9/11 museum, Madame Tussauds, Ghost Tour of Chelsea Village, Bus Tour of The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, The Ride, Catacombs by Candlelight, Harbour Lights Boat Tour), which individually would have come to 454 dollars per person. The Pass cost 249 each, which saved us 205 dollars each.
The Pass also allowed us to do things we wouldn't have paid for separately, as they are way overpriced. The Ride, for example, is a fun hour of silliness but not worth 79 dollars a ticket.
