The Official Art Deco Gift Shop

Founded in 1976, The Miami Design Preservation League has proudly offered guided walking tours of The Art Deco District for over 40 years. All Proceeds go towards supporting preservation. Visitors are introduced to the history, architecture, and preservation efforts of Miami Beach. Tour ticket includes free admission to the Art Deco Museum and Gift Shop. There are a limited amount of tickets available for each tour, so early bookings are encouraged . Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure for check-in.

Take this tour, and hope to get Julie. What an enjoyable combination of education and fun. It’s important to me to get context for the places I visit, and that’s what I got from this tour: historic figures, development drama, architectural design history and community organizing to preserve, plus things to watch out for during my time here. The cost of your ticket goes toward preservation efforts and court fights to save historic buildings— hell yeah. And Julie even helped us find a killer rooftop bar with a view AND A POOL after the tour— exactly what we wanted. Ahhh. This is the tour you want in Miami Beach. Volunteer tour guides, so bring cash for tips.

I am a MB resident and attended the sunrise Art Deco tour which was a fantastic way to start the day and spend about 2 hours learning more about the buildings I pass by regularly. Our guide, Howard (?), was well informed about topics on the tour, but answered much more about buildings and local history not formally part of the tour. I live in the Art Deco district and, after going on the tour, I can’t help but notice the stylistic details I missed before.

What a fantastic tour, taken by our marvellous, knowledgeable and entertaining guide Joel. A two hour tour, worth every penny, bringing the area and history to live. And at the end of the tour, Joel gave us a hand out outlining the buildings we saw and some we didn't, together with suggested websites to visit for more info and books to read as well as where famous films or TV programmes were filmed. A must if you have two hours to spare whilst in Miami Beach.
