I'm afraid my visit just flat out disappointing.
For starters, I see no purpose to timed tickets or paying more for "enhanced" experiences. It meant nothing. As far as I could tell, it was a "Hunger Games" system of entry and exit, loosely presided over by apathetic employees with no supervision.
Once on 67th floor, good luck finding a decent view. All of the windows are likely to be blocked by lounging persons who've confused one of the most impressive views in the world with a Starbucks, setting up camp and consuming social media instead of scenery. As for the outdoor views, if you are lucky enough to find an area of spit-free safety barrier, you might be able to get a blurry view of a partial reflection.
And please, don't ask for help from the staff. They're deep in conversation with each other.
But the last straw was the extreme "exit through the gift shop" strategy. I can begrudgingly accept why there are no restrooms at the observation levels; to keep people moving, right? (Set aside the window denizens, I guess...) But apparently, there is only one in the entire Rockefeller Center tourist areas? And that one is at the end of the exit maze that takes 10 minutes to navigate, AFTER you achieve elevator Nirvana.
I can cut the place some slack, my visit being in the crush of Christmas. But bottom line, save your money and your sanity and go for the other observation decks.
