It started out fun and exciting. We were rolling and towards the end that's when we got wiped out! I knew what to expect since I had gone rafting before, but this was different for me. I was glad to hear that everyone in my party, after getting wiped out, popped up to the surface pretty quickly and other rafts were there quickly to scoop us up. Mind you this was a matter of seconds, but felt longer for me. When I fell into the water, the first thing is to pop up to the surface for air asap. But as I was trying to do this I ended up underneath the raft. The current caught me and spun me around and again I was looking to pop up to the surface asap, but somehow I was underneath the raft. I tried not to panic and stayed still with my hand raised up high. A few seconds later I felt a hand grab mine and they pulled me into the raft.
I would just like to say that eventhough I'm thankful for the raft(s) that came to scoop us up quickly, the guides might want to wait a few seconds to make sure everyone from that raft, that got wiped out, pops up to the surface first. I know it's a hit or miss, but I feel because the rafts came so quickly that's why I got caught underneath the raft that ended up pulling me up.
I will be going rafting again, but not for a long while. It was one hell of an experience. This experience kept me from sleeping for a week just thinking, what if?
