USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park

The Battleship Memorial Park is home to two National Historic Landmarks, the WWII Battleship USS Alabama and the Submarine USS Drum. Step back in time and see what life was like aboard these navy vessels. Explore the Aircraft Pavilion, home to 28 historic aircraft and antique military vehicles. Afterwards, make your way over to the Great War exhibit, which opened in March 2016 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of WWI. Throughout the park you will see memorials honoring modern war veterans including the Fallen Hero’s 9/11 Memorial, the Korean Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, and a monument honoring Military Service dogs. Spend your time however you desire as this self-guided tour will allow you to discover the park on your own terms.

Parking $5.00 and the price for seniors $15.00 (55 yrs and older - non military). The views are amazing and the history is even more amazing. Wear comfy shoes. Had a wonderful time on the different decks, wheelchair accessible only on main deck. I enjoyed the history and all the amenities a battleship also had to offer for the crew. The stimulator was neat @ $7.00 Did not walk all thru the outside because it was a bit windy out nor did I take alot out pictures, looking and reading alot.

Senior $15.00, AAA member $16.00. Self guided tour with easy to follow arrows/numbers. Informative signs posted throughout. Memorial park includes the USS Alabama, the Drum and aircraft. Only suggestion to the Memorial Park would be a short film covering history of each battleship star and accounts from former crew memebrs. The USS Wisconsin has such film and it really adds to the experience. The USS North Carolina has crew member memory accounts posted throughout the ship.

Unbelievable experience for me! Worth all the walking, blisters, pictures …. I was able to go up as far as they allowed We spent about 3-4 hours looking at everything on all the floors/levels There’s also the USS Drum section submarine- also worth exploring throughout all the portholes
