My father and I both thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We had an excellent tour guide (Nicole) who did an excellent job connecting with individuals in our group and sharing an almost endless stream of info and anecdotes.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Friends but it was cool to see the Central Park setting and sit on the couch there. The Batman exhibit was fun to see but the lighting should be turned up (I get that Batman is dark, but it was hard to see the detail in the cool vehicles.). The props warehouse was interesting as well, especially the Oval Office set-up.
The self-guided part at the end was a little unclear, particularly the protocol for photos on the Friends couch / set and the Big Bang Theory set. For Friends, an attendant would take 2-3 pictures of you on the couch with your camera / phone and the other attendant would take a photo on his camera that was later available for sale ($25). For Big Bang Theory, you could take pictures of the set with your own camera but not when you were sitting on the couch or at the elevator - those were for sale only.
The exhibits about green screen, forced perspective, and audio mixing were unexpected additions to this part of the tour.
Really the only negative was the cost. Obviously I knew the cost in advance but compared to a full day at a theme park it seemed very over-priced.
