We will learn about the beginning of Georgia and tour the original squares. Discuss the Colonial way of life churches, monuments and markers in this area as we journey into a timeline walk of the Historic District. Then our tour proceeds down Bull Street. The tour is one miles of walking and includes stops at Civil War homes, Cemetery, Theaters and famous movie locations.

Out guide had lived in Savannah about 15 years, but she seemed to have a life time of knowledge about the area. We were taken from pre-Revoluntary times up to present times all in the space of an hour and a half. We spent most of our time going from park to park along Bull Street--there are 22 parks in the historic area. Very friendly and very patient with our questions--don't miss Belle Walking Tours.

Michelle was our guide and she was very knowledgeable! She shared all types of information covering everything from history and architectural facts to movie trivia and recommendations on where to eat etc. We weren't planning on going to the Juliette Gordon Low birthplace (as there are so many to see and you can't do it all) but on her recommendation we did and it was a great tour. It's a good thing to do early on in your stay to help get your bearings. The price was just right too.

My husband and I took this tour upon arriving in Savannah. It covered a lot of ground and the guide had an excellent knowledge of the history of Savannah and the buildings. We learned some interesting tidbits of info and got to see most everything in the Historic District. From this tour, which lasted about half the morning, we were able to decide what we wanted to focus on for the rest of our time in the City. The walking was not strenuous as there are no hills. We could hear the tour guide clearly--she was very articulate and educated and had lots to say about everywhere--even architectural details of something we were walking by. I highly recommend this tour to people who are new to Savannah like us, to current residents, or people who have been to Savannah before and want a deeper knowledge of this historical and architecturally significant city.
