Our tour was ok, but not spectacular. Our Guide, Chris, was what made the trip for us. Chris was on time and very knowledgeable. His presentations of the history and geography of the sites we visited were very well delivered. Unfortunately, the most disappointing part was the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center itself. We have traveled all over the world for over 50 years and seen other open-air wildlife conservation centers such as this. But this one was not impressive at all. Yes, we saw moose, bears, Musk Ox and others, but the very little information about the animals habitat, where they mostly live, or what they live on, (ie, just the basic information) etc. provided was NOT well presented or thorough. And, in some cases, not available at all. The living spaces for the animals was mediocre. It looked like the food services and gift shop was where the center invested most of their non-profit income. During another part of the tour, the "Rain Forest Hike" was weak. It consisted of a very short hike on a concrete sidewalk for maybe 10 minutes.
