My sister and I had so much fun on this kayak tour. It honestly wasn't what we expected, but that was part of the fun. My sister and I were the only ones signed up for our time slot, so it was just us. We parked at the winery and the guide drove us a few miles up river. We got into the kayaks and he pushed us off the shore into the river, and then we were essentially on our own. The guide told us he would meet us at the end of the section back at the winery. Fortunately, the river was very easy to navigate. There was only one fork and the company had put up a big sign so there was no way to go the wrong way. The river included some gentle rapids and some stiller areas. The current pulled us along at a moderate clip. There were times when our kayaks turned around and we were floating backwards or when we bumped the shore. None of it was scary. In fact, I found the trip to be very peaceful and enjoyable. There were a few others tubing on the water, but for the most part, it felt like we had the river to ourselves. The kayaking lasted a good amount of time, but with the current, it wasn't tiring or difficult. The guide was waiting for us at the end point. My sister and I changed and then spent a wonderful hour at the winery. All in all, it was a very nice experience. The scenery was gorgeous. It was a new way to enjoy Sedona, and the wine was good, too. I would definitely recommend this to friends who are up for a little adventure.
