The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 6 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for a ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush a dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

Total Tour Time: 1.5 hours - includes 1 hour with the dogsled team (aprox 30 min sled ride) and approx 30 min round trip flightseeing

DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER - the weather at dog camp is high elevation and may be cold and wet. Layers with an outer waterproof shell is recommended.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee

First of all I’ve never been in a helicopter nor been on a Glacier. Both the helicopter and sled dog experience was amazing. The pilot was excellent and very informative and the dog keepers and musher were so wonderful. The dogs were so happy and energetic and full of life. You can tell these dogs are well cared for and happy. If there is 1 excursion you choose this would be the one.

Great fun visiting and actually on the dog sled for a two mile run. Brandon was our musher. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The dogs were well trained and enjoyed attention. Great views at the top. Cameron, our pilot, was friendly and professional. He pointed out interesting sights. Scenery was fantastic. Worth the cost.
