The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 6 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for a ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush a dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

Total Tour Time: 1.5 hours - includes 1 hour with the dogsled team (aprox 30 min sled ride) and approx 30 min round trip flightseeing

DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER - the weather at dog camp is high elevation and may be cold and wet. Layers with an outer waterproof shell is recommended.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee
BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE HELICOPTER - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them

This was an awesome adventure. Totally worth the money! Shane our pilot was great and also our lady musher ( sorry I didn’t quite got her name) was excellent. They all made us very comfortable. It was a beautiful sunny day and the views from the helicopter were phenomenal. The dogs were so adorable. It was an experience of a lifetime.

This experience was fantastic from the start. We were collected from our hotel, at an extra cost (on time), and transported about an hour out of Anchorage to the helipad. We were assisted straight away with getting outfitted with overboots for the snow, and a locker to store some personal items you are unable to take onto the glacier. The helicopter flight was amazing, the scenery stunning. It was amazing to take that first step out of the helicopter, onto the glacier, and see the mushers camp and the dogs raring to go. We had a fabulous, one in a lifetime experience, of sledding through the snow being towed by these gorgeous dogs. The musher was really helpful in explaining what to do and then assisting us to have our own turn at driving the sled. It was magical. At the end, we even got to give the dogs a pat and learn their names before heading back in the helicopter. All in all, a wonderful experience that we would absolutely recommend.

Incredible views and great customer service!! Rented the Go Pro and super worth it for the footage! Will the musher at the dog camp and Hayley the helicopter pilot were amazing guides!!! Once in a lifetime trip!!! Will definitely be recommending to everyone!! 5/5 stars!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
