I always take a hop on/hop off bus tour when in a new city. This one was great. Our first tour guide, Megan, was a bit overly enthusiastic but nonetheless informative. We got off at one of the stops and later continue on again, this time with Zio (?) who was right on cue with his enthusiasm and very knowledgeable. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago or even those who live here. You learn and see a lot.

Tour was not great and not bad. There are two busses , you switch in the middle. Our first guide Liam was not great. He talked so fast that he was at times not understandable. Of the parts we could catch we kind of thought we were not impressed. Stupid jokes about his age and recommending we NOT get to exited about the free popcorn because it is a tiny bag. Also way to much about his personal hatred of Mr Steeler. He had no ponchos for us as it began to drizzle. Then downpour ( rain not his fault ) we all had to cram in downstairs where his tedium continued. 2nd bus With Steve and driver Shamisa ( female ...sorry if I butchered the name )was better though they still had not ponchos. Steve was far more intelligible and told us about the city as opposed to a bunch of one liners from first bus. Had the tour been $24 it would have been more in line with what we got. $41 was way out of proportion to the value of the tour. Others said the same. Like I said...OKay but not great. By the way I am a tour guide and manage a tour company.

We purchased a Go City Explorer Pass with 4-experiences. We chose the Big Bus one-day tour as one of our experiences. Also on the list of choices, is the Big Bus night-time panoramic tour. Unfortunately, when we got to Big Bus in the evening, we were still subject to the $10.00 upgrade fee per ticket. The wording on the Go City website is not clear about this. I can see if we bought a one-day hop-on/off ticket through Big Bus and wanted to also do the night, that we'd then upgrade. But, the night tour was also listed as an experience option. We shouldn't have had to pay the upgrade, it should have just been one of our experiences from Go City. We were told to line up by 7:00 to get a spot on the 7:30 bus. It was a great tour - but it wasn't even dark by the time we got back, so we didn't really get a "night" experience.

Now in regards to the pass that you have purchased we do apologize that it was not clear on which tour was available with your pass. For Go City passes, our day time hop on hop off tour is included with the purchase of the pass, only with the Explorer Pass or Build Your Own Go Card could you have taken the night tour free of charge and it just would've been one of your choices/experiences. We will reach out to Go City card to make sure the verbiage on their site matches what we offer. Once again we apologize about this confusion but we are glad you did enjoy your time while touring with us. We do hope that if you do return to Chicago you'll ride with us again.
