My son (13) and I joined this tour just after opening by the M&M store. We used our NY Pass and this tour was great value. We took the downtown route and stayed on until stop 12 where we got off to take the Staten Island Ferry. Much later in the day we got back on at stop 7 or 8 and we took this back to TS. Kevin S was our tour guide and he was wonderful. He spoke loud enough so that we didn't need to put our ear phones in (not a fan of them), and was so knowledgeable and entertaining. I can't rate Kevin highly enough, and he made our tour all the better. Thanks Kevin!

I have used Big Bus two days tour last week in New York, first day was great with good weather, the guides were funny when they introduce the areas, but second day while on the bus, one of the guide was keep mentioned ' China town no good' ' China town is the best place to buy fake bags' 'no one likes to visit China town because of the viruses' 'china town is not safe' those comments makes me feel uncomfortable. When the bus reached the final destination at M&M's, while I got off the bus, the guide gave me dirty look without any greetings but for everyone else. I can see he is racist person. I won't recommend if you are Asian to use this.

It's hard to learn that you haven't been given the best customer service possible, as our customers at Big Bus are our number one concern. I see other reviews advise of problems finding the pick up points and other logistical issues - overall we didnt experinence this however did use the app which probably saved us from wandering around aimlessly. Overall the trips were good with some interesting facts however, the quality of the tour is pretty much determined by the tour guide on the bus. Our first guide was great, welcoming people on board, engaging us in conversation as well as giving us all the important info as well as delivering a really interesting tour. The second guy (on a later tour -return journey) kept refering to buildings as to the films they had been featured in - this ended up quite monotonous especially as many of the films we hadnt even heard of. The most dispointing part came on our last day in NY, we were given a circle line boat tour ticket as part of our package from Big Bus, we checked were we needed to get the bus, what time etc etc - we were told to get the 9am bus from times square, so arrived in plenty of time 8:20 ish hopped on the bus after checking with tour guide, was advised to get off at stop 10 (i think) when we tried to - we were told no stop 11 or 12, so stayed on the bus, got off at the required stop and asked where to get the boat only to be told oh not here, you need stop No X and you wont have enough time now today -very frustrating. In short - get the right guide and its great.
