Woefully bad service. The ticket guy made us wait for the next bus even though there were empty seats on the bus we could've got on. Then proceed to inform us that a bus would be available in 45 minutes, stating that there are busses every 30 minutes. We said we would walk to the next stop, but he said we had to get on at this stop. This is not the case, nor was there a bus in 30 minutes. What happened was, we waited for 75 minutes in the sweltering heat standing with nowhere to sit. He told lies to us to make a queue. Worst service in NY city, even as a free pass on the CityPass it was not worth it. 60 minutes per bus and crazy queues. Be prepared to stand and wait....

We do Big Bus Tours in every major city we visit (Paris, London, San Fran, DC, Boston) - this NY one was just okay. The buses need some major TLC (cleaning up trash/general upkeep/sanitizing), and they need to have more buses running as they were booked to the gills. We bought our ticket weeks in advance and it didn't matter - the line was very long. It felt like they were overbooking it. The audio tour on the headphones was more cheesy than informative. We wanted to know more about the architecture and history of NYC and less of the weird jokes and role-playing that was provided. Also, it'd be nice to have the buses run every 15-30 minutes instead of every 30-60. We found that the Big Bus app did not accurately show where buses were located. Also, NY needs way better bus stop signage signaling where the blue vs. red stops are.

Hello, We are sorry to hear about your experience while in New York. Throughout the day, we do ensure each bus is cleaned between trips as well as ensure our buses leave our garage in top shape. We hold ourselves to a high standard and are sorry to hear you found our bus needing additional upkeep. We will be sure to look into this and inform management so we can correct this immediately. Currently, we operate our Downtown loop from 9:30am-4:30pm and our Uptown loop from 10am-4pm. While we try to communicate this as best as possible through our staff, website, and app, we regret to hear you were not informed prior to boarding the bus. We are also disappointed to hear you did not enjoy the audio tour or frequency of our service. We apologize if you experienced delays on the day of your visit. While we aim to provide a frequency of 15-20 minutes on our Downtown loop, there are times we have delays due to city events that are out of our control. We hope this did not create too much of an inconvenience during your trip. Not great, prerecorded message on the bus was often not timed to the place they were talking about. Bought 24hr ticket expecting to do a full loop of downtown. Hopped off at brooklyn Bridge to visit 911 and statue of liberty. Arrived back at the bus stop at 6pm only to wait for 30mins and find out the last bus left at 4.30pm. Why advertise a 24hr ticket when busses only run from 9.30am until 4.30pm which is not widely publicised. Done many big city bus tours and this was definitely the worst.
