This custom private tour starts at the Hilo Port or any Hilo location. You will see the Best of the Volcanoes National Park, Rainbow Falls, and whatever else will fit in the 7 hours of time! For other optional stops, see below. Many people skip Punalu'u due to the long drive to see more of the National Park.

With Private Tours, you can spend more time seeing what you want. If there are things you want to see, don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We are happy to modify tours based on your needs.

This is a 7-7.5 Hour tour we guarantee to get you back on the Ship on time. We can provide boosters for children 4 and over if given advanced notice.

There is a lot to see on this road. We keep your tour action packed and we don't take you through endless lava flows that are the same eruption.

Get a black of rainwater that has been super heated under the rocks.

Punalu'u Black Sand beach

The most famous black sand beach and possibly turtles, this black sand beach is a serious time commitment because we have to drive you out of the National Park through the Kau Desert, there is very little to see. Most people would rather see a black sand beach and see more of the National Park, this is totally your choice.

Fantastic tour really goes above and beyond with knowledge and doesn’t just take you to the touristy spots. The only option for touring big island.

5 couples just completed a cruise from Australia to the US. 8 ports of call, 8 tours (6 private). Easily this was the most professional, comfortable, and complete. Jodi did a wonderful job of moving us around the high spots, doing private talks at the volcano visitor center, taking us to rainbow falls, Kilauea, orchids, macadamia nuts, a city market, and turtles (2), in very nice van complete with snacks, water, and umbrellas. Price was reasonable, you should use Jodi if you go to Hilo.

Jodi was very communicative with exact details as to where to meet at the port. She arrived in her Mercedes van which accommodated all ten of us very comfortably; and had a microphone so we could all hear as she educated our group with extensive knowledge and love of both the south and north island. She personalized the tour, took lots of photos that she shared with us all and provided snacks & drinks. During the drive she showed a wonderful film of the eruption of the volcano. A delightful 5 hour tour and would highly recommend!
