The trip itself was a good way to get an overview of the city. We were on a bus with the infamous Johnny Boston. I have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor and love puns so I should have loved Johnny Boston. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge and much of it was interesting. And some of his jokes were funny. But most of the ride was absolutely painful. His shtick got really old really fast. The dead pan, total lack of emotion thing was really annoying. He repeated a number of his jokes that were kind of funny the first time but were not funny the second time ("that is water under the bridge"). I was wondering if it was just me but my wife, who is used to my bad sense of humor, fully agreed, and it seemed like everyone else on the trolley either was finding him annoying or didn't speak enough English to understand. We were planning to do the full loop to get a full overview of the city so we could decide where to focus our time the rest of the trip. We were stuck in a fair amount of traffic so it took even longer. I wanted to get off and take the next trolley so I wouldn't have to listen to him anymore but his trolley was full and we would leave stops with a lot of people waiting, so it was unclear if we could get on the next trolley, so we just toughed it out.

Cindy was a great tour guide and very entertaining. She shared historic information as well as current events. We loved her trolley tour.

They got 2 start because they did carry us from point to point, but that was really it. There wasn’t much history or “tour guide” stuff in between the stops. One of the guides just played recordings of old times music or the JFK speech or other random stuff that didn’t really make much sense. One driver rudely yelled at a patron for talking to their companion while he was talking. I thought “omg, that was so rude and I was embarrassed for the person.” Then it happened to me and my friend with a different guide! We were talking about which stop we were going to stop at next and we got yelled at! Sir, I’m paying you for a service, I don’t deserve to be yelled at while discussing what is coming up. We witnessed multiple cars and pedestrians almost get hit by the trolleys. I mean, driving in Boston can be a challenge but I had to close my eyes a couple times. I was waiting for someone to scream or car crash sounds. I would not recommend this tour to anyone.
