Started the day planning to do the walking tour on the Freedom Trail bit were a bit put off as we listening to a girl leading the tour, then realised later she would be the one leading ours. So, as a previous reviewer said, why not buy a $3 map and do it ourselves. In the end that looked a very long walk and we needed an overview so we opted for this hop on, hop off tour. The first guide was a woman in her forties or fifties, she seemed a bit indifferent saying things like 'Boston had the first school in the country, the Latin School but I have no idea where it is'. Not a good start.
At the the waterfront we got off, had a walk around and rejoined another bus, a man in his fifties, I don't know his name but he was great, very amusing and knowledgeable.
On these buses the driver is the commentator, not sure if that is a brilliant idea but it keeps costs down and at $16 whithout the harbour tour this was well worth it.
