Capitol Reef National Park

Join us for a drive through Capitol Reefs back country to a scenic paradise of desert landscapes in our luxury 4X4 vehicle through cathedrals, temples, buttes and hoodoos that will get you away from most all of the park’s visitors. We’ll ford the Fremont River and stop at the Bentonite Hills, walk around, take pictures, talk about the geology and history of the area, stop at viewpoints along the way and enjoy the solitude, visit the iconic Temples of the Sun and Moon, see geological oddities such as Glass Mountain and ancient lava flows. This trip has tons of photographic opportunities and is missed by most visitors to Capitol Reef due to its remote location and often times challenging roads. If you're looking for a Jeep tour of Capitol Reef give us a shot, we don't drive Jeep but have more comfortable luxury vehicle to accommodate larger groups, enjoy the air conditioning on those hot summer days or enclosed SUV with a heater for the chilly days! We do winter tours as well.

My wife, daughter and I had the pleasure of being Jason's first customers with his new company. The company may have been new, but Jason showed years of experience in guiding tours with his off-roading capabilities and extensive knowledge of the Capitol Reef area history and unique geological formations that make up the area. We took an all-day tour of Cathedral Valley that allowed us to see unbelievable sights we would've never seen on our own. He's also an awesome camp chef as he prepared a wonderful meal for us in the shadow of the Temple of the Sun. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of tour guide, vehicle accommodation, and sights seen.

We booked a day with Jason in the middle of a trip covering the National Parks and wild lands of Southern Utah. In between the Crowds in Zion and Moab (which by the way, are worth seeing despite the crowds), Jason took us around the incredible Waterpocket region around Torrey and Capital Reefs National Park. Except for the brief times inside the parks, we saw one other vehicle that day in some of the most incredible and diverse terrain around. Jason is a fantastic guide. Equally comfortable with adrenalin producing four wheeling, and "nerding out" about the history and geology of the region, he read the audience well and was just plain fun to talk to. We didn't have specific things we were looking to see, so we asked for his "dealer's choice" which I strongly recommend. I won't reveal all his surprises, but we (two parents in our 50s and a nineteen year old adventurous daughter) all had an amazing time. Jason is savvy enough to customize for a different kind of group. Jason's vehicle had versality similar to Jason himself: Rugged and sturdy for serious off roading, but air condition seats made it extra comfy on a hot July day. Let me also throw in a plug for the Torrey/Capital Reefs area. Many skip this top between Zion/Bryce and Moab. Don't. Amazing landscape, fewer people, great restaurants. Go. And book a day with Jason!

We booked a half day tour of Capitol Reef National Park with Jason from Waterpocket Adventure. As a family of 4 with 2 boys ages less than 10 years of age, we thought Jason was just going to drive us leisurely around on the scenic route. Little did we know, that it turned out to be much more adventurous than we expected. He took us to all the nooks and crannies of grand canyons, from where dinosaurs used to roam, to the wash, picked wild apricots, petroglyphs, and sent us rollicking off road trails on his customized 4x4. Jason's knowledge of Capitol Reef National Park is both impressive, intimate, and he was able to make the place come alive. I don't think we could have found all the places Jason showed us without his 4x4. The boys never slept a wink the entire tour, and talked about the bumpy off road rides all the way home to Washington. A special thanks to Jason who made our first visit to Capital Reef National Park a successful and memorable one.
