*Our mission is to make your tour the highlight of your vacation! We will do everything we can to make that happen! Our captain is a local who has navigated these waters for over 40 years!

*Our tours are a Full 2 hours around Chincoteague and Assateague! We run all brand new boats and travel over 25 miles of coastline. Sunrise and Sunset tours available!

*Our tours allow you to have the best, up close and personal experience to see ponies and other wildlife such as eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, pelicans, dolphin, and beautiful sunsets around Chincoteague and Assateague Islands.

*Each experience includes a tour of the island and cruise through small guts and waterways to get you up close to an abundance of wildlife and scenery.

*We look forward to sharing our Island with you!

Mike is the owner of Up the Bay Pony Tours. I believe he is soon going to have several more captains piloting additional pontoon boats, so I can't speak about their quality, but I can review Mike's tour. The only criticism I have, and it is a verrry small one, is that when you arrive at the dock area, it is a bit tricky to find the right boat because Mike doesn't want to have advertising plastered across the side of his boat. So call shortly after your arrival and you should be able to hook up. We visited several herds of ponies, and got the history and stories about the ponies. It is quite charming and scenic. Blankets were provided to take the edge off of the wind. Mike's stories go back to when he was a child living with his grandparents on the island during the summer months, so he is the real deal.

The captain was wonderful and is very knowledgeable about the ponies and the island. He really knows how to show you a great time while we were on tour. Can’t wait to go out next time.

Had a great time with my friends and Captain Mike. We got to see Ponies, Bald Eagles, and other cool wildlife all while hearing about some interesting Chincoteague stories and traditions. Captain Mike is a awesome guy and really makes sure everyone is having a the best time they can. I highly recommend this tour for groups of all ages and backgrounds.
