Of all the Kona coffee farms we visited this trip, Hala Tree was the perfect overall experience we were looking for. Hidden uphill behind a church, you park at the end of a shirt winding road and are greeted by a host of excited pups. The dogs welcome you to a lush seating area surrounded by Hawaiian foliage. The patio sits in the shade in front of the visitor’s building which churns out aromas of freshly roasting beans.
While much smaller in size than some of the bigger coffee farms in the region, Hala Tree’s staff was the most friendly and most passionate crew we came across. Fantastic people who love their coffee and love to share their story.
They offer a short tour, with views overlooking the coast, but more importantly tastings of any of their available coffee beans. Served via French Press and piping hot!
We couldn’t have had a better morning in Hawaii. Make sure to say hi to Nala if you go!
