Wow! Just be Abd my 16 yr old- he loved it, his words. With the military discount it was cheaper to buy season pass pays for itself when went one day. It was refreshing to see the colonial depictions to include free blacks Abd slaves and characters who stayed in their roles. When you enter houses creators- actors give you a wonderful historical narrative. There are working farms, get the pass that permit entry into all the facilities. Lots of walking, you’ll need scooter if you have mobility issues, the paths are clear and I’m a Disabled veteran and dud not feel restricted at all. There’s restaurant you van walk to modern sit outside tahr in that old town feel both modern & pre revolutionary war. Parking was free we parked at visitors center took walking paths to bus got off first stop to grab stew at tavern. Some open at different times so check brochure it’s free and it has events show times. Be part of interactive court house And experience live court proceedings it’s so funny and you learn so much.

We visited with my 14 year old daughter and parents on 6/26/23. Unfortunately, the location was devoid of any meaningful & enthusiastic re-enactments, which is definitely what we were expecting in this historical community. The only notable proceedings we witnessed in 2.5 hours were located at the Guardhouse. Regrettably, almost the whole town was asleep and there was very little to experience during our visit, outside of checking out the Public Gaol and Governor’s Palace. It seemed as if almost everything was closed or cost an additional fee. No fife & drum corps. to be seen or heard. Shops were also a major disappointment! As someone who truly loves history, I left this place perplexed.
