“Vera Marie” raises the bar for fishing head boats “Party Boats”. She runs two fishing trips per day during the season and 1 trip per day during the off season when available. She is also excellent for corporate parties, holiday events, family reunions, weddings, bachelor/ette parties and more. The Vera Marie is a 70′ walk-around. She also has a Sun Deck, large Air-Conditioned salon and restrooms.

Dangerous conditions Wednesday 5/15/24. The boat should never have left the dock. Fishing in 6-8 feet waves in impossible and dangerous. If you can't stand up, you can't fish. 70-80% of the 50+ passengers were SICK. The few fish that were caught were no bigger than your hand.

We are sorry you did not enjoy your fishing experience. It's always a tough call to decide to call off a trip or not. The captains take a lot of factors into consideration when making the call and we usually have a lot of disappointed customers if it gets called off. Some days the water is rough on the fishing trips, but if it's a safety issue they do call it off. Thank you for sharing your experience

Seemed more like a novelty fishing experience. Small fish for the hour and a half spent getting to the spot and another hour and a half back. I would recommend a more private charter if you are looking for big fish. Crew was nice.

Thank you for the feedback. The party boat is meant to be more of a beginner experience, but they do catch a lot of fish on there too. We just never know what mother nature will give us!

I have very mixed feelings about this trip. My adult son was very excited to go deep sea fishing finally, and I booked based on the images of the trip. However, I got a call the day before saying the boat in particular was not available and we would have to be on a smaller boat, (ended up being a very different boat, no upstairs, half the size), but we didn't know how different it would be so said ok as we were leaving the next day. I never saw the captain, except for his feet being propped up, he didn't come down and talk to us at all, or make any attempt to talk to use during the trip. I don't even know what he looked like; the college boys doing all of the work however, were wonderful, helpful, polite. I wish I'd more cash on me. I think it is very sad that the boat was not like the images portrayed, and that the actual boat docked within 10 minutes of us docking, and had only a few guests on it. It was all very strange. There were no older hands to do the fish fillets, so the younger guys didn't have much experience with cleaning the fish, which was also unlike the pics. I didn't realize there were still scales on the fish, and so many bones, but that could be my own fault. The guests were wonderful, the trip was on a perfect day, and a true effort was made to be sure everyone that wanted to catch fish had ample opportunity to do so. I wanted to be able to give this a 5, but the split from what was advertised was somewhat important to note.

We are sorry you were disappointed in your deep sea fishing trip due to the boat swap. We had a regular military group fishing that day who started with 15 soldiers but then later added 10 more to their reservation. They needed to go aboard Vera Marie with that many people. Our party boat trip on Vera Marie only had 15 passengers (which normally woudl not have been enough to take a party boat trip out) so the owner decided to swap boats in an attempt to make both trips happen. Moving to the smaller boat allowed us to still do the trip. Each customer from that trip was contacted and asked if they preferred to reschedule or go on the Good Times boat. A few customers rescheduled and the rest agreed with the change. Both boats are very good and accommodating for our customers. Fishing on the Good Times with a smaller group normally costs more than the party boat. As far as the Captain, he greets the customers prior to departure and go es over what to expect on the trip, fish weather, seas, and other misc things that apply to that day of fishing. The captain puts his feet on the bench to the side of him because he is watching the customers while also being underway. The mates job is to help customers on the deck with the fishing and entertaining, we are glad you enjoyed them. Kye, our primary mate on that trip, has been on our team for three years and grew up fishing so he is definitely experienced cleaning fish. We are glad that you still enjoyed the trip and the other guests, and caught some fish to enjoy.
