Floating through the heart of the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve in Haines Alaska is a must see attraction and you won't want to miss the jaw dropping scenery, delightful guides and genuine Alaskan wildlife.

Watch eagles catching salmon and caring for young eagles in the numerous nests that line the riverbanks. Look for bears, moose, and a host of other wildlife that call the preserve home.

Relax or take pictures as your private guide navigates the narrow channels of the Preserve's glacial fed rivers.

Andy, and his dad David, provided us with an exceptional experience. Our excursion began with a table set up with snacks and beverages. We were fitted with nice comfortable boots and life vests. Their passion for the area was obvious. Andy is a highly skilled captain. We felt extremely safe and comfortable during the entire trip. His knowledge of the Bald Eagle Preserve is impressive. He was able to point out the majestic eagles long before we would have spotted them. Andy took the time to enable us to see eagles in flight, protecting their young in nests, and regal positions on tree branches. Andy provided us with a very personalized and educational experience. He is a high energy person with a good sense of humor and passion for his profession. In addition, his photographic talent enabled us to capture fantastic pictures of these beautiful eagles. Very highly recommended.

While visiting Haines, I went on the float trip through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve with Andy of Haines Rafting Company. He was recommended by locals. Andy has a lot of experience and is very knowledgeable about the area, the eagles and the animals. He's a lot of fun to spend the afternoon with, and he knows where the eagle nests are to maximize your experience. He had boots for us, and included was a tasty snack with local smoked salmon.

I can't rate this highly enough. It exceeded our expectations in every way. Pick up was prompt and transportation to the launch site was comfortable. Our guide was interesting and informative. All of the necessary gear was provided as well as a dry bag for my camera equipment. We saw in excess of 30 eagles and learned a great deal about their life cycle and habitat. Our trip finished with a welcoming table set with cheese, humus, salmon and drinks. We couldn't have asked for a better tour.
