My husband and I had a spectacular day with Garl. It was the highlight of our whole trip. He is SO knowledgeable and knows the Everglades like the back of his hand. We caught some nice fish and had a great time exploring on kayaks. We want to book a trip back just to have a guided experience with Garl once again.

If you do anything in South Florida, this is the trip to do. Seriously. It's a MUST. Our day with Garl ended up being the highlight of the whole trip. Garl is the now the most experienced guide in Everglades National Park, having been there now longer than all of the rangers. He knows all the trails, knows many alligators and crocodiles by name, and is the best guide you can get in the area. On our 8-hour tour we got to see three different ecosystems up-close. The slog through the cypress domes was magical. Then we kayaked for a few hours through freshwater mangrove tunnels. Garl said that he's had to rescue the boats of people who get lost in the tunnels, and I believe it! We were glad to have him to guide us. We saw a crocodile there up-close. Then we kayaked in the ocean and saw lots of sharks up-close, fish jumping, and flocks of sea birds. We kayaked back during a gorgeous Florida sunset. Garl took pictures throughout that he sent to us after. All in all the memories and experiences will stay with us forever. It really was one of those lifechanging, unforgettable days. Book the tour. One of the most exhilarating tours I've ever done. My wife had done this tour 16 years ago and recommended we do it with friends. We started off walking around in the water looking for Princess and Snaggletooth, the alligators. We saw two huge barn owls there. Then headed over to fresh water kayaking, where we met Croczilla. Finally, ended the tour with some salt water kayaking where we saw an alligator, sharks, and more birds in one place than I've seen anywhere else. We also looked for more crocs around the deck at night and saw Gums there. Garl himself is very experienced and seems to enjoy the whole process which makes it even more fun. He was also great at taking pictures of us in each of the places we went, can share those once we receive them. Would very strongly recommend this tour!
