We went on a tour with Garl on an unusually windy weekend in early March. I was concerned that it cause things to be cancelled or the day to be cut short. Suzette assured me that the wind might change things but it wasn't going to cancel anything. Just to be flexible based on what mother nature hands us that day. I love that she was honest. More than that, I love that Garl knows so much about the park that even though the salt water paddle didn't happen due to water conditions, I still feel like I learned, experienced and saw so much. He loves and respects the park and all things in it and wants to teach others to do the same. That makes for a great guide for me! I am not going to list what we saw because everyone is going to see something different. But, what I will say is that don't worry about what the conditions may be like. Garl and his staff will make sure you get the best out of what nature offers you that day.
Not only that, but they also adjust to the interests of their group. I can't tell you how many times Garl gave us options and checked to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. He really does care about customer service!
Here's something that I think is important to remember: you are going on a tour of mother nature. Go without expectations. The guides can't control the park. What Garl's guides will do is make sure that you will see the best that it has to offer on that day. Be flexible, be open, be respectful and you will have an amazing experience.
Thank you, Garl, for an amazing time. We learned a lot, had great experiences and fell in love with the everglades!
