Recently spent a week in Las Vegas and while there, my daughter and I went on the Gray Line South Rim day tour which I'd booked far in advance of our arrival. Early start being picked up from our hotel at 05:45 by coach picking up persons from various hotels before bringing everyone to Gray Line depot for check in and transfer to seperate coaches for specific tours. Our tour left the depot at 07:30. The coaches were clean, comfortable and fully air conditioned with toilet facilities available. Our driver/guide (Shannon, I believe) was great; professional, courteous, knowledgeable and very informative throughout the entire long day, not returning to Las Vegas till after 21:00. All staff we encountered from start to finish were polite, courteous and professional. Our tour included a brief stop overlooking the Hoover Dam from the Arizona side for photos and a bathroom/snack break at Kingman, Arizona on the way down, lunch stop just outside the park entrance at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, an hour to explore at Mather Point and an hour at Bright Angel Point to explore around the El Tovar Hotel and a short food stop on the return journey at Kingman, Arizona. The Grand Canyon is a breathtaking natural wonder and the walk along the rim is paved ensuring both conservation and accessibility. Most of the day is spend on the road due to the distances involved but it is well worth it, and this is my second time taking a Grand Canyon South Rim day tour from Las Vegas.
