Justo/Jay is the epitome of a surf instructor - chill, patient and kind. Great movement tips & short practice on land, then he stayed close by and launched us one by one on good waves. Maybe three or four tries before everyone was up on their feet and gliding in. We had one family member that needed extra help, I was a bit concerned she wouldn’t have a good time, but Justo was just incredible and gave her confidence. Pretty soon she was up on the board too. We did this class yesterday and I’d literally go back today. I recommend Justo most highly. Mahalo!

My husband & daughter had a blast learning to surf! The instructor was very kind, patient & made the whole experience fun for them. It was a great time. Not only do they provide all the necessary gear, but the instructors take time teaching you the basics on land & then out in the water. Everyone in the group (6 total learning to surf) were able to surf several waves by the end. Another cool thing is they have a photographer who documents the experience if you want to purchase photos at the end (and they are affordable).

Amazing time. Sofia, our instructor, was incredible. Kind, encouraging, patient, and enthusiastic. Got us all surfing. Surf Shack is great!
