What an awesome experience! My hubby and I each had a Groupon ($39!!) for our tour otherwise we wouldn't have been able to afford to take this cruise... It was a worthwhile splurge and a really fun afternoon out on the water- the boat was comfortable and spacious inside, though we spent almost the whole time out on deck for the best views! The captain went straight out to where the whales had been spotted and we were lucky to see a pod of 9 orcas (2 of them were really young) swimming in front of us. At one point the pod swam right up to and under our boat- what a thrill! It was hard to say goodbye to the whales, but on the way back the captain and the two naturalists on board were busy pointing out all the other wildlife in the area- seals, bald eagles, porpoises, deer, many different kinds of birds, etc.. We definitely recommend the Orcas Island Eclipse Charters- it was a very memorable afternoon with the Orcas!

This was the making of my holiday! I took my 15 year old son in August on a whale watching tour, I was going to have to overcome my fear of boats and deep water. My son was so excited and the ladies on board could not have been more lovely! They took me aside and assured me that they would keep an eye on me. The boat was great with a viewing roof and we saw minke whales, bald eagles, sealions and many other wildlife, it was the most fantastic experience and I am so glad I went with them. I spent the entire time outside taking photos and it was definately the highlight of our holiday!

My husband and I were fortunate to take a tour with Eclipse Charters at a time when a super pod gathered. The skipper turned off the engine and came up on deck to enjoy the many orcas swimming and cavorting around us. He did warn us that not every trip out had this great a showing of whales but one of the naturalists did say they had only had 5 days over the whole season where they had no shows. The boat was comfy, the skipper and the naturalists were friendly and informative, snacks and drinks on board. Definitely remember to bring warm clothing and hats. Binoculars were provided but the whales were so close we really didn't need them. I enjoyed the view from the open top deck and from sitting on the bow. The skipper took us to see sea lions sunbathing on a small rock, talked about the other wildlife and a bit about the islands we were passing. We left late due to some issues with a large group but the skipper extended our time out more than enough to compensate. I can't rate this company highly enough. There's a reason Eclipse Charters is #1 on TripAdvisor!
