We lucked up and had a beautiful, warm day at the end of July. Wonderful day on the water! We saw Orcas-probably a total of 10-12? One was a young male and he did little flips out of the water showing off. The boat is great. Nice comfortable seats on the inside. A great upper deck(children under I think 12 are not allowed upstairs but my kids didn't mind). Plenty of room to move around and be inside or out. It was freezing while we were moving so we brought coats and wore long pants. As soon as the boat stops you start shedding layers. and wear plenty of sunscreen in summer. You are out there for a while. The staff is very organized. They even have assigned seats ready for you! There is a small snack bar-with hot cocoa and candy bars and stuff like that. I think everything is $1. Bottled water is complimentary. Or you can bring your own food.and there is a bathroom. I appreciated that we saw whales but the captain seemsed to respect them judging from how far he stayed and how we noticed other boats not cutting their motors and moving even when the whales were very close.

This tour was amazing! Knowledgable crew, comfortable boat, and best of all, we saw tons of whales! We saw a humpback mama and its baby and a pod of orcas, about 20 total! Captain Dan is very respectful of the whales and the the naturalists were full of information. You can even take a seat next to the Captain for a bit if you want. Seating is very comfortable, they assign seats based on your group size and then you can freely walk around outside for the view. We were a family of four so we were fortunate to get four seats with a table, but most of the seats didn't have tables. There are small snacks and drinks for sale on board and a head if nature calls. Lifejackets are required for young children when outside and its adults only on the top deck. They provide binoculars, which are not for the young kiddos either. You board just steps away from the ferry and there is a grocery store across the street to grab anything you need before or after your tour. There is a small office with a few souvenirs that is open prior to boarding, along with restrooms. There is also picnic table seating outside while you wait to board, or if you're waiting for the ferry afterwards. I highly recommend this tour!

The boat is the largest and most comfortable boat. Very safe. Lots of seating areas. Great naturalists!! We followed whales for a couple of hours
