The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

I learned a lot of history on the Gypsy Vanner horses. Not a breed you see a lot of where I live. Then we got to go see the horses & pet them. That was fun! This farm is ideal for horses and very beautiful. If you like horses and history of horses regardless of the breed you will like this tour. Recommend for sure!

This is an amazing experience. Definitely one of the top things to do in Ocala. The horses are magnificent and their story is fascinating. Dennis and Erin Thompson make you feel so welcome. They are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and make your visit so great. Dennis is a born storyteller and we were all riveted to his tale of finding these horses and how things developed in bringing these horses to the U.S. We could have listened to him for hours. After Dennis spoke he took us around to see the horses, donkeys, and mules. They all very friendly and come right over to the fence when we stopped at each paddock. If you are a horse lover you cannnot miss this, and if you're not you will still find this visit unique and be glad you went.

Highly recommend the narrated tour. Dennis is a delightful storyteller and the history of the breed and the farm is fascinating. We thoroughly enjoyed it and walking around to pet and see the gorgeous horses was amazing.
