The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

Horses were beautiful and the owner was very knowledgeable, his passion is infectious. I look forward to watching the progress of the farm as it continues to grow.

I'm not much of a history buff, but the gentleman that owns this place has a fascinating history. He brought the breed to America and gave them the name. They are truly premium gypsy stock. You can also tell that he cares about his horses and not in it to just make money at all cost to the horse. I admire him, I've been inspired by him, and his horses are just beautiful.

I love this review, thank you for writing it. Although my late wife and I were intimately involved in the naming of the Vanner breed is was Gypsies who made a choice between Romany Horse and Gypsy Vanner Horse. The last man we ask was Fred Walker, who some called "king of the coloured horses" When ask to choose Fred said " why Gypsy Vanner Horse is the perfect name , thats what they are a Gypsies Vanner Horse" . You are correct this has never been about money, its about doing something worthwhile. Your words, make it feel worthwhile, thanks, Dennis

The presentation while seated in the barn lasted longer than expected. I suggest some of the presentation be incorporated into the walking portion to allow more time with the horses. Horses were all beautiful and appeared happy and healthy. The other animals looked well also. We enjoyed feeding them the carrots we brought. The future vision for the farm sounded like a great idea and I wish them success as it's brought to fruition.

Thanks for your nice review PM Fan. I understand your concern about the time spent on the talking part of the tour but its really hard to get that perfect for everyone. Many people say , I could listen to you all day and many return over and over to catch what they missed on their previous visit. In fact one lady last week said she has taken the tour 15 times. Yes, thats difficult to imagine but it's true. We have filmed the tour and it will be edited to last a specific time with photos added to be shown on a screen as you sit around campfires so, the tour will be a specific length. That way , the ones who cant get enough will still want more but hopefully everyone will love it. There will be even more animal experiences in the future so we hope you will return one day.
