The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

Our group of friends visited with Dennis and his staff on a beautiful sunny day and was very glad we took the time. Dennis gave a history of how the Gypsy Vanner's arrived in America and how he is still in love with the breed. The talk is a little over an hour but done completely without notes!! Then Dennis takes you on a walking tour of his land and talks more about each one of his animals. He not only has horses, but donkeys, mules, birds, and goats! Take a ride out to horse land and enjoy this magnificent place. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The only drawback is not enough bathroom facilities, especially when they are busy.

We had a wonderful and informative visit to Gypsy Gold. Would highly recommend. The background story and tour of the farm and beautiful Gypsy Vanner horses was well worth the trip.

Dennis’ explanations were extremely informative - very passionate about the Gypsy culture and the breed. Horses are wonderful to see and meet. Great to support a farm doing so much for the greater good. Be prepared for the walking part- which isn't long maybe 45 minutes of mostly talking and standing by animals -but goes best with sneakers or other closed toe shoes and possibly ankles covered. The farm is very hospitable and provides water, coffee, nice facilities and some bug and sunscreen sprays.
