We did the half day white water rafting. Everyone was very friendly and told us everything we needed to know before heading out. You get a life jacket, helmet, and paddle. The life jackets were kind of smelly but could have been worse. Bring water bottle for the boat and put on sunscreen before.
We got a $12 waterproof reusable phone case that you can take pictures through from the gift shop. We were able to fit the car key in that rather than leaving it on the hooks they provide so I definitely recommend doing something like that.
Our guide was Brodie/Brody (not sure of spelling); he was great! Definitely seemed like an expert on the water. He was also able to point out different locations and information about the area as we went through. We enjoyed his recommendations in town and stories, it really made the trip entertaining. All of the guides seemed friendly and knowledgeable, I don’t think you could go wrong.
The water was low so we did get stuck a couple of times, but Brodie quickly got us going again. It was not as fast and rough as my previous perception of white water rafting which was fine by me. It was nice to relax and float with no rigorous paddling involved. I believe there are different sections of the river to do if you want more of the thrill.
We got some good photos and purchased them at the end for $45. You get all the digital copies from your boat instantly.
Do it if you’re visiting Durango!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed review, we really appreciate it! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed rafting with us despite low waters. We love our aqua cases for that very reason, they are perfect for photos and to avoid losing all of your essentials to the river, which does happen quite frequently out there! We are also glad to hear that you enjoyed having Brody as your guide, he is super knowledgeable about the area and is an overall fun and experienced guide! Thank you again for sharing an adventure in Durango with us, we are looking forward to having you along for the ride next time around! Think rain!
