As a culture-tourist, I place this tour among my most memorable and unique tourist experiences in NY. For two hours I was transposed into the world of the Hassidim of Williamsburg - located one subway stop outside of Manhattan - and returned with a great experience and understanding to share with others!
Frieda the tour guide, raised as a Hasidic woman and proficient in the local Yiddish vernacular, engages the tourists, narrates, translates and demystifies the seemingly closed off life of the insular Hassidim. Above all, Frieda helps you imagine the universal human experience from a Hasidic person’s perspective.
I highly recommend this tour and I hope to take it again one day.
