Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

It was so beautiful up in the air over the lake and the park. Custer park was so beautiful. The staff was knowledgeable and fun. We had so much fun. The landing was the icing on the cake. We have stories to tell for quite a while! I would not change the experience for anything. Well worth the price and getting up so early!!

I always wanted to ride a hot air balloon and it was everything I imagined. From the blowing up of the balloon and the brilliant colors to the smooth takeoff and gentle drifting over the woods and lakes it was all good. The landing was a bit bumpy but we’d been well prepared by our pilot so no damage done, and an interesting story to tell. Champagne and orange juice with snacks were a refreshing treat afterwards.
