You MUST be able to swim unassisted in the ocean to book this Beginner Scuba Dive.

Private Scuba Diving is REQUIRED when your group has a novice swimmer. Look for our private tour in a separate listing.

If your swimming ability is misrepresented, it will lead to removal from this beginner scuba dive and NO REFUND.

Public transportation options are available nearby
Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Not recommended for pregnant travelers
Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age to participate is 10.
Guests should be able to carry a minimum of 30 pounds for a short distance.
After diving you must wait 18 hours to fly or ascend to 1,000 feet or more.
Guests MUST be comfortable swimming in the ocean to complete this scuba diving tour. If you book this tour but cannot swim, you forfeit your participation in the experience as well as your right to a refund.
Must be able to answer NO to each question on the Medical Statement. A YES answer requires a doctor clearance. Failure to secure a doctor clearance when needed forfeits the ability to dive and the right to a refund. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers ahead of time for a copy of the medical form if you have any health concerns that might affect your ability to dive.
Transportation not included. Please let us know if you will not have a rental car.
Not recommended for travelers with asthma or sinus medical conditions
Proficient SWIMMING ABILITY IN THE OCEAN IS REQUIRED. This means that you must be able to swim unassisted in the ocean.

Don’t skip the second dive - you’ll regret it! We opted to do just one dive but had such an amazing experience that we immediately did a second dive afterward, and even came back another day for a third. Having never dove before, Mike made it really clear and easy to feel comfortable before going under. We had up close and personal views of coral and beautiful fish, lots of turtles and even 3 or 4 sharks! Mike made it feel safe, noninvasive and got lots of great photos of the experience (I wouldn’t pass on those either). This was the highlight of our trip to Maui!

Awesome experience! Michael was great- really fun and patient with us as we learned. Felt safe the whole time and appreciated the clear instruction. Highly recommend this if you want to try a great intro to scuba class.

Mike was the best! We met up before the dive and we showed up a half hour early. Mike and the staff were so welcoming and invited us in and got play with their dog before the instructions. Mike was very relaxed and thorough thought the first dive. He made sure we felt comfortable and picked th best dive sites to see turtles and hear the whales. Best time! Thanks!
