Nature Trails - Rainforest and beach walks/hikes; as well as bear and local wildlife viewing in natural habitats including coves, creeks, and beach settings. We booked the private Island Hummer Tour for our family of 5 through Holland America. Our guide was Shannon and she was fabulous. She is knowledgeable, personable, a fantastic sense of humor and super chill. She talked to us about our interests and geared our tour to those. We visited multiple waterfalls, went to a totem park, visited Creek Street and had some delicious crepes at the Alaska Crepe Company. One of my daughters asked about crystal shops. Shannon made her day, by fitting in a quick stop at a local crystal shop. We had an amazing day and it was cool way to see and learn about Ketchikan.

We booked this excursion through Princess Cruises. We had a great experience with Duane and Lee. They were able to customize the tour so we could see the things we were most interested in, including a secluded waterfall, a beautiful cove, and even a black bear (a rare treat). They tell great storys and know the history of the area well. We also had time to visit their favorite coffee shop and enjoy so home made cookies.
