Couldn’t have asked for a better day kayaking. This family run business is a gem. We were running a few minutes late for our 9am reservation but not to worry, the husband wife owners text us and told us “no worries.” They we’re waiting outside when we arrived. There is plenty of parking and the spot, though tucked away is easy to find using Google Maps. When we pulled up we were greeted with smiles and happy introductions. We chatted with the owners for some time before we hopped in the well maintained kayaks. The river is gorgeous, peaceful and we were the only three on the river. We paddled on water that was smooth and easy to navigate taking our time as we explored the beauty around the river. There are rope swings that looked inviting and our hosts said were there for us to use but we preferred to just float and paddle. We paddled quite a way upstream before turning back. Our paddle back took us the way we came and under the road bridge ending in the ocean. The beaches were deserted so we enjoyed some time there and later paddled out into the waves as a light shower sprinkled down on us. It was simply magical. As quickly as the rain started it stopped. We headed back and were greeted by our hosts and their darling granddaughters. They helped us easily disembark and get up onto their lovely brand new dock. Then our host treated us the fresh coconuts. It was a perfect Hawaiian adventure. Thank you so much to the wonderful people at Kahana Adventures! We loved it!

After years of driving by this beautiful place we decided to stop by and try out the stand up paddle board adventure. It was such a great experience. Owners were super friendly and helped us with getting everything setup and in the water. It’s was such a fun experience be able to see the views from the center of this beautiful bay with the family. The hike afterwords was pretty amazing as well. Being able to look down on the water where we rented the boards was the perfect ending to this Adventure. We can’t wait to Come back soon! I stumbled upon this place by accident trying to find a kayak drop near The Hat. This place was about another 10 minutes up the road and well worth the change in plans (it was a rough ocean day anyhow)! My wife and I felt like we had a real Hawaiian adventure. Kele was a very cool person and got myself and wife setup on a tandem kayak which we rode up the river through the serene jungle until the water starts running you back the other direction. We turned around and made it to the bay. We then dragged our kayak over the beach to another inland water entrance and turned the corner to return to the dock. Kele had left us a coconut in the fridge. Super easy, super enjoyable, unique Hawaiian experience.
