  • Wheelchair accessible: Free wheelchair rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis upon request. You are welcome to bring your own manual wheelchair, motorized wheelchair or electric mobility scooter.
  • An induction loop is available for hearing impaired.
  • Tours are outdoors and will depart rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, the Museum will do its best to reschedule your tour experience.
  • Parking is available in front of the Museum. On race days during the Churchill Downs Racetrack events, there will be a charge for parking in this lot.

We have always wanted to go to the Derby. Well one day we are going back. We bet on a few races while we were there, walked around with friends and learned the tradition of horse racing. Well worth the trip down from Indianapolis. Great gift shop as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Churchill Downs. I took the walking tour and back stable tour - both very enjoyable and informative. The museum two floors was awesome. Highly recommend people visiting Louisville to put on their list to visit. Also had delicious lunch at Derby Cafe.

Really enjoyed this tour!! John, the tour guide was great! The staff was extremely helpful. Learned a lot about the Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs that I didn't know before. The movie in the round was fantastic. We loved how we could take as much time as we needed to tour the Museum, so we could take in everything. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone coming to Louisville!!
